This Symposium aims to recognize Dr. Ricardo Teles contributions to Clinical Periodontal Research.

Ricardo was a brilliant scientist and wonderful human being. This symposium will gather some of the many colleagues he collected during his prolific career to acknowledge his legacy, recognize his achievements and pay tribute to his dedication and commitment to advancing the periodontal field.

This symposium is directed at a broad audience, from dental students, residents and PhD candidates, to post-doctoral fellows and faculty members at any stage in their career. The purpose of this symposium is to review the current knowledge in clinical periodontology and how it impacts clinical practice and patient care. It is anticipated that the symposium will help identify the current gaps in knowledge in the field and help shape the next wave of clinical periodontal studies.

  • To improve understanding about the etiopathogenesis and treatment of periodontitis
  • To develop critical judgment about the importance of these findings in establishing individual preventive and treatment strategies for periodontitis
